Notes From The President…
Hello, Goldcrest residents! As summer winds down, we on the Board wanted to update you on some of the projects that we have been working on for the past several months.
Repairs and Replacements
As you probably know, two of the mailbox clusters were broken into and damaged at the end of February. Thanks to the HOA’s property insurance, we were reimbursed for most of the cost of replacing the mailbox units. Strangely enough, about three weeks after the mailbox break-in, the Goldcrest sign at the Cooper Point Road entrance was destroyed by a car. Thankfully, our insurance company, Liberty Mutual, came through again, and we were given a settlement of more than $5,000 for the damage. We decided to replace both the sign at Cooper Point and at Road 65 NW, and chose to go with a sign company based in western Washington for the replacement. We have been working with them to design and install new signs that reflect and complement the aesthetics of our neighborhood. We will keep the community informed as we move forward and have more tangible details.
Greenbelt and Landscaping
The Board has also been working to beautify and maintain the common areas, including adding more landscaping to the area that borders Goldcrest Drive NW, and to restoring some of the greenbelt. We have also been working with a certified arborist to trim and in some case remove trees that may pose a risk to any buildings, property or sidewalks/walking paths.
Garage Sale
The (usually) annual garage sale was held the first Saturday of August, and we had a record number of residents holding sales this year! Hopefully next year’s sale will not be impacted by a pandemic as last year’s was.
Residents Meeting
On another COVID-related subject, the Board had hoped to hold an in-person resident meeting this fall, but it appears that the Delta variant has quashed that idea…we’ll try again in the spring!
